Clinical outcomes comparison of single fresh and frozen-thawed superior blastocyst transfer

چکیده
Objectives: To compare the clinical outcomes of single fresh and frozen-thawed superior blastocyst transfer in patients for the first transfer. Methods: This study included 770 single fresh blastocyst and 639 single frozenthawed blastocyst transfers from January 2013 to January 2016. All the fresh and frozen-thawed embryo transfer was first transfer for the patients. The patients were divided into fresh group and frozen-thawed group. Main outcome measure: female age, endometrial thickness, infertility duration, clinical pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy and abortion rate. Results: We observed that there was no significant difference in female age, endometrial thickness, and infertility duration and abortion rate between two groups. It’s worth noting that the clinical pregnancy rate in fresh group was lower than frozen-thawed group (66.36% vs 68.39%, P = 0.420) and the ectopic pregnancy rate was higher in fresh group than frozen-thawed group (1.57% vs 0.46%, P = 0.096). Conclusions: The data support the view that the frozen-thawed transfer may be a better clinical strategy for patients with superior blastocyst in their first transfers.

Comparison of clinical outcomes between fresh embryo transfers and frozen-thawed embryo transfers
BACKGROUND Advances in embryo culture technology and cryopreservation have led to a shift in in vitro fertilization (IVF) from early fresh or frozen-thawed cleavage embryo transfer to fresh or frozen-thawed blastocyst stage transfer. OBJECTIVE To compare the clinical outcomes of fresh embryo transfers and frozen-thawed embryo transfers. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this retrospective case contr...
متن کاملI-13: Blastocyst Culture and Freezing
It should now be beyond doubt that blastocyst culture results in better pregnancy rate (PR). This calls for fewer embryos to be transferred, and indeed blastocyst culture is of most value when the intention is to put back one embryo at a time. The PR with one top-grade blastocyst is 45-65% in different studies. If two top-grade blastocysts are transferred, the PR usually does not differ, but th...
متن کاملEmbryo stage of development is not decisive for reproductive outcomes in frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles
OBJECTIVE To evaluate if the outcomes of IVF/ICSI in frozen-thawed embryo transfer and fresh embryo transfer cycles differ in relation to cleavage and blastocyst stages. METHODS Retrospective cohort study to compare IVF/ICSI outcomes between fresh embryo transfer and frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles, according to the stage of embryo development. Analysis was carried out on 443 consecutive...
متن کاملPregnancy rates of frozen embryos recovered during winter and summer in Sistani cows
During spring, summer and winter seasons, Sistani donor cows, with normal reproductive status, were superovulated and embryos were recovered non-surgically on day 7. Grade A blastocyst embryos were either transferred fresh (spring) or frozen (summer and winter). Recovered embryos during summer and winter were exposed to glycerol and frozen using conventional method. During spring season, recipi...
متن کاملA retrospective study of single frozen-thawed blastocyst transfer
OBJECTIVE To study the clinical outcomes of single frozen-thawed blastocyst transfer cycles according to the hatching status of frozen-thawed blastocysts. METHODS Frozen-thawed blastocysts were divided into three groups according to their hatching status as follows: less-than-expanded blastocyst (≤EdB), hatching blastocyst (HgB), and hatched blastocyst (HdB). The female age and infertility fa...
